Baked Matcha Donuts

Our Baked Matcha Donut recipe uses rice flour for a moist finished product. To preserve the Matcha’s color, make sure to lower the oven temperature for the second half of baking!
Baked Matcha Donuts

INGREDIENTS
- • ¾ cup rice flour
- • 1 tsp baking powder
- • 1 Tbsp Aiya Culinary Grade Matcha
- • 3 ⅓ Tbsp butter
- • 4 Tbsp sugar
- • 1 egg
- • ¼ cup Milk
- • 3 Tbsp sweetened azuki beans
DIRECTIONS
- 1. Sift the flour, baking powder, and Matcha together and set aside.
- 2. Begin pre-heating your oven to 350°F.
- 3. Allow the butter to come to room temperature and stir it until it is smooth and creamy.
- 4. Whisk the sugar into the butter until it is well incorporated and the whole mixture takes on a white color.
- 5. Beat the egg and add it in little by little until it is well incorporated.
- 6. Add the milk into the sifted dry ingredients, mix gently, and then add the butter and sugar.
- 7. Transfer the batter to a piping bag.
- 8. Using a donut mold (or any circular mold you like), place 3-4 azuki beans into each mold and then pipe the batter over them.
- 9. Bake in the oven for 12 minutes, lower the temperature to 325°F, and bake for about 5 more minutes.
TIPS:
1. While this recipe calls for rice flour, you can substitute all purpose or cake flour instead. Please be aware that changing the flour will slightly alter the finished product.
