HOW TO PREPARE MATCHA

7 SIMPLE STEPS TO MATCHA PREPARATION

Though making a traditional bowl of Matcha can look a bit intimidating, the process is quite simple. Gather the accessories and follow the steps below to create the perfect frothy cup of Matcha green tea.

ACCESSORIES NEEDED

Matcha Bowl
Bamboo Scoop
Bamboo Whisk
Ceremonial Grade Matcha
Pre-boiling Hot Water
(soft water recommended)
Small Hand Sifter
(optional)
Whisk Holder
(optional)

KEYS TO REMEMBER

Do not add more than 3 oz of hot water before whisking. Adding too much water will prevent the tea from frothing.

Boiling water should be avoided to preserve the smooth, mild taste of Matcha. The temperature will release the tannins in the tea, resulting in a bitter taste.

Clean the accessories by rinsing with water only. If possible, store the bamboo whisk on a whisk holder, which helps preserve the shape of the whisk and prevents molding.
